Festival Edit

Summer's nearly here and that can only mean one thing - festival season is nearly upon us! We here at Madam Lulu's have quite a few festival season's under our belt, as festival goers and traders with our stall KarmasuiticalsYou'll have seen us we're sure at Glastonbury, Dour, Bestival, Download, Rewind and many more, and if we haven't already met we look forward to seeing you in the field!

Through years of experience we have worked out what to take and what to leave at home and thought we would pass on some of our knowledge to you guys as we know how difficult it can be to work out what to pack for a festival.

Whether you're looking for that perfect festival outfit to rock the festival boho babe style to neon raving essentials we have it all here on our website ready for you.

The most useful thing you can take is a money belt/bum bag/fanny pack - not only do they keep all your very important bits and bobs in one safe place they also free up your hands so you can party. We have a great selection here - mermaid sequin bumbags, hippy style rainbow cotton money belts and classic hip style bags so the choice is endless, you just need to pick the right style to suit your vibe!

Never ever underestimate the UK Summer weather, it can get rather chilly in the evenings! If you want to keep warm without compromising your festival style opt for a funky festival poncho from our wide range of styles - aztec, classic stripe or our super soft brushed cotton gheri poncho

Or opt for one of our cotton striped baja hoodies - style with this seasons on trend boyfriend jeans or cut offs, they go with absolutely everything!

A brilliant multi purpose item you mustn't forget is a festival shawl/blanket - wrap around your shoulders when the evening gets chilly, put over your knees when your chilling and can't be bothered to change out of your shorts or snuggle up with it as a blanket in your tent at night. We have a large selection to choose from - tribal styles, aztec patterns, classic stripe hill queen and more. Best of all they are made from recycled acrylic fleece which is great from an environmental point and they suitable for vegans too.

If you want to create that instant festival look a festival feather headband may be just the thing for you, they will give you a great boho festival style without any major effort! Or maybe you're more of a neon glitter raver - we have a wide selection of neon UK face and body paint and super glitter sticks for rocking this seasons major glitter trend using a easy application stick so you can release your inner artist and go crazy with the glitter!

On a slightly more practical note - don't leave home without -

Loo Roll - you can pretty much guarantee there won't be any in the toilets!

Sun Cream- even if it's not that sunny there is usually very little shade at festivals and you can get easily burnt without realising it.

Torch - preferably a head torch, this comes down again to the toilet situation, trying to go to the loo in the dark is particularly tricky especially if you've had a couple of drinks and a head torch leaves you hands free to keep your balance...

Portable Phone Charger - a no brainer this one, yes there are phone charging stands at festivals but have you seen the queues???

Reusable Water Bottle - getting dehydrated is extremely dangerous and a tip to make your camping life easier - a 5 litre bottle refilled will save you a few trips to the water tap!

Baby Wipes/Dry Shampoo - probably your best bet to keep somewhat cleanish over the weekend even if you go native!

Rain poncho - UK Summer weather - nuff said!

Remember less is more when it comes to festival packing, you usually have to walk quite a long way from the car park/bus drop off to the campsite but hopefully these few tips will come in handy when you are trying to work out what to take with you, festivals are fun and a great way to spend the Summer and even if the weather takes a turn for the worst it usually those memories of when things went mad and bad that you'll be laughing about with your friends in years to come. So please, have fun, stay safe and if hopefully we will see you there, much love - Madam Lulu's xxx
